Milkaid® lactase enzyme tablets let you enjoy the goodness of milk and dairy
foods without suffering from the distress of wind, bloatedness, stomach cramps and diarrhoea.
Being Lactose intolerant used to mean giving up milk, diary foods and the important nutrients,
minerals and vitamins they provide. Milk contains vitamins A, B1, B12 & D and provides a rich
source of calcium which is important to young growing bones and teeth - it can also help prevent
osteoporosis in older people. Lactose can also be found in various other foods and a list of those
foods can be found here - you may be surprised.
Milkaid® is not a drug, it is safe natural enzyme like the one your body
should naturally make and is safe for use by people of all ages. It works by beaking down the
complex milk sugar, or lactose, into two more easily digestible sugars - glucose and galactose.
You can now enjoy milk and diary foods again, without upset. Simply add three drops of lactase
enzyme to a pint of milk, gently shake, refrigerate for 24 hours and it is ready to use in cooking,
beverages and cereals, hot or cold. Three drops will reduce the lactose by 70% which suits the
large majority but we suggest you start by using six drops, giving 90% reduction and reduce each
'mix' until you find a level which suits you. We recommend that younger children start with 10 drops
per pint giving 100% reduction - again reducing by one drop at a time.
Milkaid® tablets are designed to work in the acid environment of the stomach and
are convenient when eating out. Chew 1-2 tablets immediatley before consuming
any food containing lactose. It is down to personal experimentation to find out how many tablets
to take before various foods.
